Teen Summer Ensemble (Grades 6-9)
Play Production: The Princess and the Pea, Written by Conservatory Director Stephanie Temple
It’s hard to be a princess...especially when all you wanna do is take a nap! In this adaptation of The Princess and the Pea, a girl must prove her true identity through a series of ridiculous tasks. And when the royal family she meets is desperate to find a match for their unwilling prince, their exhaustive tests only get wilder. Wedding planners, spooky ghosts, dancing trolls and over-zealous castle guards inhabit this whacky story, featuring the “Royal Booty Dance.”
In a professional theatre setting, students will learn acting skills, develop audition techniques and rehearse a fully-produced play (with professionally designed costumes and sets) culminating in 5 public performances.
