We love creating opportunities for young people and budding professionals at NCTC. Whether you’re in high school or college and want a career in theatre, we want to help you build your resume and experience.
TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS FOR OUR ONSITE AND OFFSITE CLASSES
Help our professional Teaching Artists in the classroom, while learning some fun new games and classroom management skills. This is a great opportunity for budding educators in any field. It is also a great way to get school credit for community service hours.
SUMMER ASSISTANTSHIPS IN TEACHING, OFFICE ADMINISTRATION AND TECHNICAL THEATRE
Summer at NCTC is very busy and we need your help. We’re proud of the long list of camp alums who return to help run the summer program. These paid positions are very sought after and fill up quickly. Let us know by early spring if you’d like to apply for a spot on our top-notch Summer Staff.
STAGE MANAGERS AND ACTORS FOR THE FAMILY MATINEE SERIES
We’ve been able to hire many of our high school students for their first paid acting or stage management jobs in our Family Matinee Company, an advanced group of teens who perform in productions exclusively for young audiences. These productions have a short, fast-paced rehearsal process and require serious commitment, as the productions run for several weekends. But the pay off is working in a pre-professional environment and (literally) running the show. And, it’s a paid gig. How cool is that?!
STAGE CREW FOR NCTC’S MAINSTAGE PLAYS
Occasionally we need extra help backstage and we’ve had great success in turning to our advanced high school students and college alums. They’ve done everything from painting sets, operating spotlights, helping with quick changes, and orchestrating scene shifts.
