ABOUT THIS CLASS
The Performance Ensemble is the crown jewel of classes at NCTC. We often have very dedicated students who take the class all throughout high school, with some alternating between performing or offering to stage manage. We love when new students join the mix too. The focus of this class is on building a cohesive ensemble. We don’t choose projects that have only two leading roles and everyone else has a small part. Sure, some do speak more than others, but we work hard to make sure there are opportunities for all. When we can’t find the right script, we make our own. Past productions have included The Melodrama Project (exploring early American theatre,) The Odyssey, MUNI (an original sketch comedy,) a groovy 1960’s version of The Canterville Ghost, Neil Simon’s The Good Doctor, Dracula, The Brother’s Grimm Spectaculathon! (a parody of children’s theatre,) and a teen angst version of Alice in Wonderland.
"NCTC is like a second home for all students and everyone feels welcome when they walk in the door"

"Every time I come to NCTC, I feel like I’m at home and I can let my theatre spirit run free!"
