Fairytale Studios

June 29-July 3

Grades 7-12

Calling all actors and directors! Using on camera acting techniques, we’ll create our own television studio filled with fairytale characters. Enjoy a cooking show with the Witch from Hansel and Gretel. Get ready for the Royal Ball with Cinderella’s makeover show. Listen in as our sportscasters narrate a battle between the prince and the dragon. The possibilities are endless! Advanced, older students will have an opportunity to both act and direct. We’ll craft costumes from homemade objects, create show theme songs and turn your home “studio” into a personalized set. This exciting, fast-paced camp is sure to generate tons of fun! Select student work will be recorded and shared with families.

Dates: June 29-July 3

Day/Time: Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm

Tuition: $350 for 1-wk camp (includes performance video link)

Only 20 students max allowed in this class

*Note: Grade level refers to 2019-20 school year, as in students will have completed 7th grade this year.

WHAT DO I NEED TO JOIN AN ONLINE CAMP?

1. A computer with access to the internet, a camera and a microphone

2. A student email account to receive daily tasks

3. A quiet, home “studio” where you can move freely and act silly without disruption.

4. A pioneer spirit! Dive in and we’ll teach you how to use Zoom (free video conferencing) and Flipgrid (free video recording app) to maximize your participation.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE ON A TYPICAL DAY?

BUT WHAT ABOUT A “SHOW”?

It’s true. We can’t sit together in the theatre and applaud the efforts of our performers. However, we will create video presentations for you that will serve as keepsakes for this moment in time. And once we’re able to have students at NCTC again, we’ll host a reunion party and we can screen their work and play some of our favorite games together!
