It is hard to believe that it has been about 6 months since we closed our theatre doors while in the midst of the world premiere of The Book of Mountains and Seas. This has been a tremendously powerful and transformative time as humans, art makers and activists.
While there is nothing quite like the energy of our little basement, we have kept busy producing programming to enlighten, enrich and entertain. This includes:
- Online classes for youth, teens and adults to learn acting, improv, read plays and so much more
- A new podcast for when life goes off-script: In Good Company
- NCTV: Live at Five series featuring playwrights, new plays, puppetry lessons, and legendary drag queens
- Behind-the-scenes videos from the Conservatory, monologues and thoughts from our actors, writers and creative team, plus mindfulness exercises
- Coming soon: The Law of Attraction radio play
We could not have done this all without the support of our NCTC family, so thank you! Recovery won’t be easy but with your help it will most certainly be possible. If you are able, please consider donating to support NCTC so that we may open our doors once again.
During this time, we are also exploring how we can enhance our ongoing work to be an antiracist organization. You can keep track of our progress and our future commitments here.
We hope you and yours stay well during this time and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Sincerely,
Ed Decker
