Ed Decker

A graduate of San Francisco State University and a former Director of the ACT's Young Conservatory. Ed is particularly proud of the tumultuous events in 1981 which galvanized a group of concerned parents and students to join forces resulting in the birth of the New Conservatory Theatre Center. NCTC’s multi-theatre complex showcases our Pride Season, In-Concert/Cabaret Series, Family Theatre, Emerging Artists, and YouthAware Educational Theatre. Ed has served as a site evaluator for the California Arts Council, Marin Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. He is the recipient of the STOP AIDS award for developing NCTC’s HIV Prevention touring programs for youth ages 5-18 that have been touring since 1986. Under his leadership NCTC has been named a two time winner of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Arts Excellence Award. |

Ed joined the staff of NCTC in the spring of 2005. He received his AA Degree from Johnson & Wales Universsity in Business Management. After spending 20 years in the travel industry most recently as Promotion Coordinator for AAA Travel Services, he brings his love of theatre, marketing and promotional skills to the theatre along with a passion for graphics work and serving the theatre audience. |

Originally from San Diego, Anne received her B.A. from San Francisco State University in Speech and Communications with a specialized concentration in gender studies. She has previously worked in the production department at ClearChannel Broadcasting in San Diego and locally doing marketing and publicity for Artsfest and Spectra Ball. She attended the Pride Season 12 production of Hijra in March of 2006, became enamored with NCTC and happily joined the staff in April 2007. |
Andrew Nance
Conservatory Director

Andrew oversees all school programming. He has been involved in Educational Theatre since 1992: working for The Disney Co. and in Tampa, FL performing and directing (respectively) Educational Touring Shows. As a Drama Instructor he has taught on both coasts. His training comes from American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco's Attic Theatre, and he received his B.A. in Theatre from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He studied at The Lee Strasberg Institute, Practical Aesthetics Workshop and Playwrights Horizons. His instructors have included: David Mamet, Anna Strasberg, Linda Hunt, W.H. Macy, Gregory Mosher and Sydney Walker. Mr. Nance has performed in New York, Provincetown, Tampa and with NCTC, The Exit, Magic Theatre and The California Theatre Wing. Both nationally and internationally he has done commerical, print and televison work. Awards include: Best Actor in a Solo Performance and two for Best Ensemble by The Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards. As a Director his work includes: D*Face (Santa Monica's Highways Theatre & NCTC) Hijra (NCTC), Spanish Jade (Stanford/Playwrights Foundation), Party Daze and Inner Circle as well as And Then They Came For Me (YouthAware NCTC Education Tours). |
Jovan Olague

Jovan has been a part of the NCTC family as a stage manager (Take Me Out, Drunk with Love and the world premiere of Crucifixion by Terrence McNally) and House Manager since 2004. In 2006 Olague left NCTC for a year to continue his education. After that wonderful long vacation, Olague return in the spring of 2008. One year later, the title of Casting Director was added on (started with Zanna Don’t) and has been their casting director to this present day. Mr. Olague has been in the theater business for nearly 25 years. Other works outside of NCTC that Mr. Olague has been associated with are: Stephen Sondheim’s 75th Birthday Salute, Summer Repertory Theater’s 30th Anniversary Gala (starring Tom Schumacher) and Stage Managing Cyrano De Bergerac starring Tony Amendola. Before moving up to San Francisco, Mr. Olague produced and directed many award-winning and critically acclaimed productions in Southern California. |
Brad Pence

Brad joined the staff of NCTC in 1987 after being the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for four years. Mr. Pence received his BA and MBA from San Francisco State University and is the former Chairman of the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission for the City of Pacifica. He has worked as a Certified Public Accountant, Internal Auditor and Controller, and now has his own CPA practice.

Sara Staley
YouthAware Programs Director

Sara received her BA in Theater from the University of California Los Angeles where she focused her efforts not only on acting, but also on educational theater and playwriting. While residing in Los Angeles, she worked in television production and promotion for both NBC and The Disney Channel. She also worked with UCLA Extension in developing programming for their Department of Entertainment Studies and Performing Arts. Ms. Staley's responsibilities with NCTC include coordination of the YouthAware Education Programs which produces productions on HIV prevention, tolerance education and substance abuse awareness for schools all over the Bay Area. |

Stephanie Temple is a graduate of USC’s School of Theatre in Los Angeles and NCTC’s resident jack-of-all-trades. Ms. Temple is an actor, director, choreographer, costume designer and playwright, having created over twenty original children’s plays. With fifteen years of professional experience, Ms. Temple has taught theatre & dance at NCTC, CSU Stanislaus, Merced College, Young Artists Conservatory, PCPA Theatrefest and currently runs the drama program at Live Oak School in Potrero Hill. Ms. Temple also won the SF Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle award for her choreography in NCTC’s smash hit, Zanna, Don’t! |
Kyle Wheat

Kyle joined the NCTC staff in Winter 2008 after receiving his BA in English Literature and Analytic Philosophy (along with a LGBT Studies Certificate) from the University of Maryland. He moved to San Francisco after a successful internship with Equality Maryland, Maryland's leading LGBT rights advocacy group. |
