The Temperamentals
Bay Area Premiere | Walker Theatre
by Jon Marans

November 4, 2011 - December 18, 2011

“Temperamental” was the code word for a gay man in the early 1950’s - part of a created language of secret words that gay men used to communicate. The Temperamentals is the story of two men - the communist Harry Hay and the Viennese refugee Rudy Gernreich - as they fall in love and build the first gay rights organization in the pre-Stonewall United States.

This year Jeffrey worked on staged readings of exciting new plays – Pat Milton’s Believers and Robin Lynn Rodriguez’s Hedge. Jeffrey is thankful for the love and support of his parents and his glistening turnip, Don.

This will be his 16th professional production in the Bay Area after having worked at Impact, Boxcar, and The Willows. Though his nights are filled with theatre, by day he toils for a SOMA based videogame company. He auditioned for this show not ten minutes after his little sister came out to him, and he couldn’t be more proud of her.
