by Award-Winning Playwright Jeff Talbott

Shaleeha G'ntamobi's stirring new play about an alcoholic black mother and her card sharp son trying to get out of the projects has just been accepted into the nation's preeminent theater festival. Trouble is, Shaleeha G'ntamobi doesn't exist, except in the imagination of gay playwright Danny Larson, who created her as a kind of affirmative-action nom-de-plume.

NCTC's OnStage Insight series brings the director and the cast of The Submission back to the stage after the performance to discuss the play and take questions from the audience about the entire creative process.  All are welcome!

 Cast Profiles
SAM JACKSON (Emilie) is ecstatic to have just become a member of the NCTC “family” this season and is proud to say that she is also performing in OutSpoken with YouthAware. Sam has most recently been seen in 11th Hour’s The Seagull Project in the Bay Area One Acts festival. Sam offers you eternal thanks for being patrons of the arts and hopes that you thoroughly enjoy the show!
ERIC KERR (Danny) is thrilled to be making his NCTC debut as part of the West Coast premiere of The Submission. Notable SF credits include: Into the Clear Blue Sky (Sleepwalkers Theatre), Wreckage (Crowded Fire), and Steve Yockey’s Octopus (Magic Theatre). When not on stage, Eric can be found poking people at his lower Nob Hill acupuncture practice (The Blue Buddha) and spending time with his amazing partner and their 5-year-old boxer.
ALEX KIRSCHNER (Pete) is stoked to be returning to the NCTC stage for the fourth time with The Submission. Past credits include Maurice, In Gabriel’s Kitchen, and Wilde Boys (NCTC); Big River (CCCT); I Love You... (Altarena Playhouse and Ray of Light Theatre); The Way of the World (Pear Avenue Theatre); and Insignificant Others (Pier 39). When not onstage, Alex is a communications professional by day and on the production staff of Ray of Light Theatre. Love to his family, friends, and of course, his P.I.C. for all the support.
CHRIS MORRELL (Trevor) is happy to return to NCTC after closing the recent world premiere of Rights of Passage. He has also been seen in NCTC productions of Some Men, The History Boys, and It’s Murder, Mary!. Chris can also be seen as a co-host of That Scruffy Show online and in various commercials and films shot in the Bay Area, and is a founding member of Maximum Flavor Media in SF.
