Take a whole new look at the American dream through the eyes of Tom, a recently-divorced, recently out, 40-something architect whose life is at a turning point.  CAST
DALE ALBRIGHT (Dan) received a BACC nomination for his last NCTC show, Tennessee in the Summer in 2009. Dale has also been seen in shows at Pear Ave, Dragon Productions, Douglas Morrison, City Lights, theatre Q and Town Hall, among others, and has directed for Dragon, Bus Barn and theatre Q (among others). He will be directing The Pain and the Itch/Custom Made (Jan 2014) and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom/Sleeping Beauty (or Coma)/ Virago (Spring 2014).
JEFFREY HOFFMAN (Richard) is honored to return to the NCTC stage, having previously played Bob Hull in The Temperamentals. He was seen recently as Chris Keller in All My Sons at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre in Hayward, and later this year will be in Speakeasy, a Boxcar Theatre original production. Jeffrey thanks his parents for their love and support, and his dream-come-true, Don, for the past seven years of immutable devotion.
WILLIAM GIAMMONA (Tom) is a veteran of musicals and plays around the Bay Area, having performed leading roles in over 40 major productions in the last decade. This is his sixth show here at New Conservatory, having previously performed as: Thomas Weaver in The Story of My Life, Luc in Waiting for Giovanni, Brandt in The Busy World Is Hushed, Hank Hartley in The Sugar Witch, and Richard Loeb in Thrill Me. KATHERINE ROBBINS (Julie) is excited to make her NCTC debut in American Dream. Previous roles: Jen/Young Sonia in Sonia Flew at Virago Theatre Company, The Fantasticks (Luisa) and Spring Awakening (Ilse) both at Altarena Playhouse, Little Women (Beth) at Douglass Morrison Theatre and Hairspray (Brenda) at Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre. JUSTIN GILLMAN (Buddy) is thrilled to be working with NCTC again following 2011’s The Temperamentals. Recent Bay Area roles include Freddy in SF Playhouse’s My Fair Lady (BATCC nominee) and Giovanni in Bigger Than a Breadbox’s ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore. Off-Broadway credits include Twelfth Night (Classic Stage Company) and When Last We Flew (Lucille Lortel; GLAAD Media Award - Best Play 2011). BFA: UC Santa Barbara. MFA: Columbia University.
ULISES A. TOLEDO (Salvador) was raised in the Bay Area and is a recent graduate of the Chabot College theatre program. He is excited to make this production his debut with NCTC. Ulises has been seen in the SF One Minute Play Fest, Chabot College, and Cal State East Bay productions, with numerous performances at the San Leandro Players company. DANA ZOOK (Cara) is happy to be performing in the city where she lives! Her last role in SF was in the world premier of The Queen’s Gambit (FaultLine Theater) Favorite roles include Karen in August Osage County (City Lights), Sarah Jane Moore in Assassins (Solano College), Brooke in Noises Off (CCCT), and Beverly in The Shadow Box (Masquers) When she’s not on stage, Dana runs a research company with her brother in the Bay Area, LA, and New York.
