The New Conservatory Theatre Center is pleased to announce casting for our production of The Homosexuals, by Philip Dawkins, directed by Arturo Catricala.
About the Show:
An epic story of friendship that questions if there is a difference between being homosexual and being gay.
Casting the following roles (NON-AEA ONLY):
The story is told in a series of 2 character scenes with one ensemble scene at the end of the second act. Evan is in every scene.
Peter (Male): Plays the age of 48 and 38. Peter is an artistic director of a prominent American Regional Theatre. He is overtly and unapologetically flamboyant. The actor must be able to cry on stage and walk in ice skates.
Michael (Male): Must be able to play 32 and 26. Quiet, boyish, friendly, and geeky. He's everyone's younger brother. Truly in love with Evan.
Tam (Female): Must be able to play the ages of 32 and 28. Tam is female. Don't call her a fag hag . . . not to her face. She's an organizer, a do-er, a shaker, and she can drink you under the table.
Mark (Male): plays both 40 and 38. Mark is extremely sexy yet caustic and blunt. He has a physical fight on stage with Evan. Both actors are wearing bed sheets. Some fight experience would be great.
Collin (Male) : plays 31. A lawyer. Collin has recently lost over 125 pounds, and is celebrating his new found slender self. The glue connecting each member of his little urban tribe.
Evan Wilder (Male): plays 30 to 20. A clean-cut, smart, fit and attractive kid from Iowa. This is Evan's story and he is in every scene. Evan is honest, determined, confused and more vulnerable than he thinks. Actor must be able to cry on stage twice ... in each performance. Some stage combat experience would be great. He has a fight with Mark in the second act ... read "Mark" above.
