Overview


Students at NCTC have the advantage of a year-round conservatory theatre training system, designed specifically for young people. They have the opportunity to learn acting skills, stage movement, musical theatre, play writing, audition techniques, technical theatre and theatre management in our state-of-the-art facility. The New Conservatory Theatre Center admits students regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, color, national or ethnic origin.

TEEN PROGRAMS
 
Scenes from NCTC's The Odyssey

Teen Acting Workshop Ages 12-14
Students will learn to add life and believability to characters through physical and vocal work, and by making bold choices. Monologues, ensemble work, theatre games, and scene study also facilitate this process.Students applying for School of the Arts find this class helpful in preparing for the audition.

Teen Improvisation Class Ages 12-14 (New!)
Perfect for young teens who can't make our Saturday class and/or don't have the time to commit to the full year program. By playing theatre games, improvs and character work, students will learn to trust their impulses, listen, react and have fun! A great way to prepare for School of the Arts audition as well. CHECK OUT THE FIRST DAY FOR FREE!

Teen Performance Ensemble Ages 14–17
This comprehensive rehearsal and performance project is designed for students who are serious about making theatre a part of their lives. Teens will produce a full-scale production that will play for general audiences in the late spring. This class is by audition or interview only.

Middle/High School Musical Theatre Workshop Ages 12-17
Students will continue to build their ensemble and solo skills by learning a variety of songs and choreography. CHECK OUT THE FIRST DAY FOR FREE!

On the last class day of each session, parents and friends are invited to a final presentation to view student work.
