Audience Performance Program Cabaret Series
Each summer, NCTC produces a four-month series highlighting local writers, singers, and musicians. This series features cabaret solo shows as well as ensembles and original musical work. The Facility The New Conservatory Theatre is fully wheelchair accessible. The theatre is happy to accommodate patrons with physical disabilities; however, it is recommended those patrons make their ticket reservations in advance during regular box office hours so that we can have your special needs on file. Patrons, who arrive in wheelchairs after seating has begun (30-minutes prior to show time), may not be accommodated in our smaller theatres. Please call ahead so we can reserve a space for you, or try to arrive 45-minutes prior to show time and ask for the House Manager. Celebrity Events The New Conservatory Theatre Center sponsors events with theater, film and literary luminaries. Special guests have included: Annette Benning, Jack Lemmon, Mathew Broderick, Julie Harris, Lily Tomlin, Joanne Worley, Franc DAmbroso, Quentin Crisp, Bill Irwin, Cloris Leachman, Terrence McNally, Charles Nelson Reilly, Danny Pintauro and Lynn Redgrave. These events are typically produced as benefits for The New Conservatory Theatre Center. NCTC commissions, develops, and premieres one new play with LGBT themes every 24 months to be performed during our Pride Season and one new play for young audiences every 36 months to be toured as part of our YouthAware Theatre-in-Education program.
An Artists-in-Residence program, NCTC’s Emerging Artists effort is committed to the development and production of work by emerging actors, singers, composers, and writers. NCTC invites up to three artists each year for stipend-based residencies, offering space and support as they work towards a final product which is ultimately produced by NCTC on one of our three stages.
