Youth and Adult Conservatory
The New Conservatory Theatre Center’s Theatre Arts School provides full-year, in-house and off-site professional training programs for ages 5 - 18, as well as Acting and Singing classes for adults. Contact  Andrew Nance.

Youth Conservatory Satellite Programs
To meet the needs of decreased arts programming in the school system, NCTC’s after-school satellite programs provide quality theatre arts instruction in public and private schools that are otherwise unable to provide arts programs for their students. NO student is turned away for financial reasons and many attend through scholarships provided by NCTC. In the warm, family atmosphere of NCTC, on-site or off-site, students develop self confidence and social ease in addition to theatre arts skills. To arrange after-school classes in your community, please Contact  Andrew Nance.

YouthAware Program
YouthAware Programs are presented during the school year and may be booked by contacting our YouthAware Programs Coordinator Sara Staley.  Financial aid is available to host sites.

YouthAware Educational Theatre Division
In 1986, The New Conservatory Theatre Center developed the first “national model” AIDS theatre-in-education series for grades K - 12 which continues to be licensed to production companies around the world. We now offer a wide range of socially relevant topics that tour throughout Northern California.

Cabaret Series
Each summer, NCTC produces a four-month series highlighting local writers, singers, and musicians.  This series features cabaret solo shows as well as ensembles and original musical work.

The Facility
The New Conservatory Theatre is fully wheelchair accessible.

The theatre is happy to accommodate patrons with physical disabilities; however, it is recommended those patrons make their ticket reservations in advance during regular box office hours so that we can have your special needs on file.

Patrons, who arrive in wheelchairs after seating has begun (30-minutes prior to show time), may not be accommodated in our smaller theatres. Please call ahead so we can reserve a space for you, or try to arrive 45-minutes prior to show time and ask for the House Manager.

Celebrity Events
The New Conservatory Theatre Center sponsors events with theater, film and literary luminaries. Special guests have included: Annette Benning, Jack Lemmon, Mathew Broderick, Julie Harris, Lily Tomlin, Joanne Worley, Franc D’Ambroso, Quentin Crisp, Bill Irwin, Cloris Leachman, Terrence McNally, Charles Nelson Reilly, Danny Pintauro and Lynn Redgrave. These events are typically produced as benefits for The New Conservatory Theatre Center.
NCTC commissions, develops, and premieres one new play with LGBT themes every 24 months to be performed during our Pride Season and one new play for young audiences every 36 months to be toured as part of our YouthAware Theatre-in-Education program.

An Artists-in-Residence program, NCTC’s Emerging Artists effort is committed to the development and production of work by emerging actors, singers, composers, and writers.  NCTC invites up to three artists each year for stipend-based residencies, offering space and support as they work towards a final product which is ultimately produced by NCTC on one of our three stages.
